We consider a free particle. V (r) = 0, with a position-dependent mass m (r) = 1/(1 + sigma(2)r(2))(2) in the d-dimensional Schrodinger equation. The effective potential turns out to be a generalized Poschl-Teller potential that admits exact solution. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
