摘要

The higher education scenario in the UK changed in the last two decades by expanding vertically and horizontally, designing the courses based on the interests of the students and the job potential, increasing the accountability of the universities, introducing transparency in the educational system, inculcating changes to absorb the market-driven culture and students meeting a larger portion of the cost of education. Also there is a growing emphasis on quality assurance and standards and modifying educational institutions introducing business like structures and process management. Students in the UK play more important role in university governance and national educational policy development. This paper studies the prose and corns of student engagement in the UK educational process. (21 refs.)
