ISO 9000 quality systems are effectively implemented by organizations with an aim to have improved performance. The increase in the benefits of such quality systems attracts more and more companies for getting ISO 9000 certified. It is observed from the quality systems scenario in the Spanish companies that a majority of the companies employ consultancy services for implementing quality systems. Hence, here, it is attempted to study whether the contracted external consultanty services contribute to enhancing the implementation of quality systems by conducting a survey among the Spanish companies. The survey results with respect to various dimensions of interest are presented and discussed in detail. (21 refs.)
