CEO interview: NEXTracker has emerged as the global leader in single-axis trackers, hitting the 3 GW installed milestone last month, and preparing for broad global rollout through new parent company Flex. NEXTracker's challenge now is to build out the uneven global market as quickly as it did the leading U.S. market. pv magazine's Charles Thurston recently caught up with CEO Dan Shugar to discuss the company's current success and strategy for expansion. pv magazine: Mr. Shugar, tell us a bit about your background to explain NEXTracker's rapid rise to market leader for single-axis trackers, and a 3 GW installed portfolio of projects. Dan Shugar: I've been in this industry for a long time. Over the past 28 years in solar, I've been designing trackers since the '80s, and built my first single-axis tracker in 1993. I've been involved in 700 projects with a cumulative 3 GW of proven generation. I've also developed exit values for two startup companies yielding over $660 million worth of transactions.
