In working on the year-end review of drug-related problems with my colleagues, I was again reminded of the enormous public health problem that medication-related adverse patient events (MRAPEs) are for older adults.Moreover, it made me reflect that there is clear evidence from randomized controlled trials that geriatric clinical pharmacists can significantly improve suboptimal prescribing and medication adherence, 2 common causes of MRAPEs in older adults. This raised a couple of interesting questions.
