POSCO plans to build magnesium sheet factory for production from the second half of next year. POSCO has prepared for it as a growth industry of next generation since August of 2002 and is going to sign a MOU with the local governments next week. Magnesium sheet price is eight times higher than sheet steel price, but magnesium is the lightest metal, weighing only 25 percent of steel or 70 percent of aluminium. It is also more advantageous than plastic in recycling and intercepting electromagnetic waves.
