Academic libraries have undergone a variety of organi-zational changes in the last two decades. One area that has evolved outof these changes is access services. Relationships between circulation,interlibrary loan, and reference have been explored though informal andformal organizational structures. Because of these types of interactionsit is feasible for reference librarians to consider positions in access ser-vices.
