For the first time, Las Vegas will host the FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show. Running Oct. 6-8, 2008, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the show will feature over 800 exhibiting companies, 400,000+ nsf of floor space, and anticipates more than 20,000 attendees from around the world. The move to Las Vegas marks show organizer's long-term plans to rotate the event between the Midwest, Southeast, and West Coast. Show exhibitors expressed an interest in a West Coast location in order to reach the large number of metal fabricating technology users located in the Western region of the United States. In addition, "a large percentage of attendees travel more than 500 miles to attend the Chicago based FABTECH International & AWS Show. It only made sense to expand regionally to better accommodate visitors from all over the U.S.," stated FMA Director of Expositions, Mark Hoper. The show makes its mark in Chicago during the odd-numbered years and will now rotate between Atlanta and Las Vegas in the even-numbered years.
