SOUTHERN New South Wales cattle producer Chris Muller has spent the past five years streamlining his cattle enterprise to reduce inputs while increasing carrying capacity. Despite a few hiccups, mainly in the form of drought, he is now turning off asmany as 250 head a year at 12 months of age delivered direct to feed-lotters. Running the 400-hectare "Parklands" at Borambola, north of Wagga Wagga, Mr Muller has invested in pastures, a trough system and fencing to run a productive enterprise which hecan manage with minimal help.
