A new 4.5 million dollar R&D project aims to improve farm incomes, increase regional employment, reduce pollution of our waterways and create new industries. The project uses the power of bacteria to reduce the environmental impacts from intensive rural industries, such as feedlots, meat processing, and piggeries. At the same time, the project will be converting the waste from such industries into valuable products such as fish and livestock feeds, fertiliser, safe recycled water and biogas.
