A MODEST scale but highly efficient cattle feedlot at the Drynan family's Glenapp property, Innisplain, south of Beaudesert, Queensland, has tapped into lucrative Japanese Ox and domestic supermarket beef sales. What gives this feedlot a healthy competitive edge is its low cost feeding regime using home grown silage in the starter ration stage, as well as for a large dairy business operated as a separate unit by the family. Glenapp is owned by Warren and Carolyn Drynan. Their son Cameron and Daughter also work in the partnership when not involved with tertiary studies, while another son Andrew is based on the family owned Springvale, a 12,150 hectare breeding cattle property at Injune.
