The International Poultry Expo (IPE) was undoubtedly the most important international trade show for the poultry industry, with an unquestionable reputation built over 65 years. The annual chicken industry technology show, held in Atlanta, GA, at theheart of the US chicken industry, had been caressingly referred to as simply the "Chicken Show" by the multitude of multi-national professionals that crowd its exhibit floor each January. Mowever, the gracious, yet expressive nickname seems no longer appropriate when referring to this iconic trade show. After joining forces with the IFE -International Feed Industry Expo (sponsored by American Feed Industry Association (AFIA)), two years ago, the show gained even more muscle in 2013 by joining forces with the American Meat Expo (sponsored by American Meat Institute), which focuses on the red meat sector, mainly the beef and pork industries. So in 2013 the show became the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE). The new trade show's concept seems to be perfectly aligned with the current times and environment, which requires continuous optimisation and rationalisation to survive and grow in an ever-fiercer market place.
