A family business with 140 care homes across the UK is using e-learning to ensurethat its 4,000 employees, of widely varied backgrounds and academic ability, arefully trained to comply with legal requirements and provide residents withhigh-quality care. Caring Homes, believed to be the largest independently owned and operated care-homegroup in the UK, provides services to the elderly, young people with learning difficulties andvulnerable families. The group specializes person-centered planning, involvingindividualized care programs designed to ensure that each resident's idiosyncrasies arerecognized. A key goal is therefore to ensure that staff are trained to meet these varyingneeds and ultimately provide optimum care for each resident.
