Another Wrecked Lab? Congratulations on the appearance of Distillations magazine. I much enjoyed reading it and think the layout is excellent. Chemist Joseph Priestley may not be unique in having his laboratory destroyed by a mob (Spring 2015, pp. 1, 24). I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Austrian chemist Josef Redtenbacher (1810-1870) had his University of Prague laboratory wrecked during the 1848 revolution. He never returned to Prague and instead became a professor of chemistry in Vienna. He designed a new lab there but never lived to see it opened. Perhaps an Austrian reader can confirm the destruction of the Prague lab?
