I am responding to Dr. Marc Rosenberg's article, "Hey, good lookin'!" in the Novem- ber issue of dvm360.1 strongly agree with Dr. Rosenberg. When Dr. Helo recognized that his female employees were preoccupied with having a new male technician, he should have immediately addressed the issue. From what I read, it sounded almost as if Dr. Helo didn't want to ruffle any feathers with the "majority" staff members. In actuality, the female staffers should have been made aware that it was James' feathers that were being ruffled. Dr. Helo should have asked them to put the shoe on the other foot and ask for feedback on how they would feel.
