摘要

The second world congress on gender-specific medicine presented the latest research on sex and/or gender differences in medicine and medical care. The presentations ranged from gender issues in general medicine, hypoactive sexual desire disorder in surgical menopause, gender endocrinology, and women's health issues in bleeding disorders to gender difference in dermatology. This report reviews the presentations given in the Gender differences in dermatology session: sex hormones and the genesis of autoimmunity, differences between male and female contact dermatitis, ageing cosmetics and cancer hormones and the fountain of youth, gender differences and HIV infection. The congress scheduled 136 articles and 84 poster presentations covering diverse medical subspecializations. It suggests that the interdisciplinary concept of gender-specific medicine needs to be incorporated into medical research and practice, particularly dermatology.
