Intranasal foreign body may be associated with chronic rhinitis in the dog. Advanced periodontal disease leading to tooth mobility may decrease the degree of force that may be associated with tooth or root displacement into the nasal cavity. Teeth orroot fragments are potential foreign bodies when displaced into the nasal cavity or maxillary sinus following dog fight trauma or aggressive extraction techniques. Displaced dental structures causing chronic rhinitis must be removed. Intraoral dental radiographs and/or computerized tomographic imaging can be used to localize displaced dental structures.
