摘要

A soluble polysaccharide, A1-beta, was extracted from the cotyledons of soyabean cv. Akishirome seeds with water and purified by Bio-Gel A 150m and DEAE-Sephacel column chromatography. The homogeneity of A1-beta was confirmed by ultracentrifugal andelectrophoretic analyses, and its molecular weight was about 2 X 106. The major components of A1-beta were arabinose and galactose in the molar ratio of 2:3. Other components were rhamnose, fucose, xylose, mannose, glucose, mannuronic acid, galacturonicacid and glucuronic acid. These results indicate that A1-beta may be a polysaccharide that has not previously been reported in soyabean seeds.
