Profits at Abu Dhabi National Energy Co. (Taqa) tumbled nearly 50% in the first quarter of 2011, hit by a surprise UK upstream tax hike. It was a different story at Sharjahbased Dana Gas, whose profits nearly tripled because of higher prices and increased production from Egypt and the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.
