Atlanta— Axiall Corp. and Lotte Chemical have signed a heads of agreement for a proposed joint venture to design, construct and operate a 1-million-t/y ethane cracker in Louisiana (PCN, 23-30 Dec 2013, p 3). The approximately $3-billion ethane cracker would be built in conjunction with a monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant, wholly-owned by Lotte, that is expected to cost about $l-billion and be built adjacent to the cracker.
