The authors state that the histopathological features of delayed regraft specimens after corneal graft failure strongly suggest that early regraft has a higher chance of success. On slit-lamp examination, irreversible endothelial decompensation was seen in 94% of corneas in which the time between corneal graft failure and regraft was less than 6 months.
