Former Formula 1 racer Takuma Sato claimed his second Indianapolis 500 win the weekend before last. Driving for Bobby Rahal's Honda-powered team, Sato fended off Scott Dixon after using pit strategy to take the lead in the closing stages. British driver Jack Harvey came a solid ninth. F1 teams will be banned from using engine maps that give extra power - nicknamed 'party modes' - in qualifying from this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, after a ruling by the sport's bosses. The move is designed to try to reduce Mercedes-AMG's dominance in the Saturday sessions.
