As Russia’s Novatek is preparing to launch the first train of its flagship 16.5 million ton/yr Yamal LNG plant in the Arctic, its tanker fleet is growing, with the third ice class tanker, the Fedor Litke, on its way to Sabetta on the Yamal Peninsula. The Fedor Litke, owned by Greece’s Dynagas, departed from South Korea, where it was built at a Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), on Nov. 9, and after reaching the Russian port of Nakhodka set sail to Sabetta on Wednesday, according to data from the Marinetraffic.com tracking system. Its estimated date of arrival is Dec. 5.
