If you want to take a 5,000 mile ride (over 3,400 by auto) in nine days and talk to some of America's best cattle people, just get in, sitdown, hold on and come along. It starts on Sat., April 23, at 3 a.m., in Crossville, Tenn., with a cup of coffeeto go and a wise goodbye kiss to the wife. Drive to Nashville, lift off at 6 a.m. and touch down in Kansas City at 10:15 a.m. I flag down a familiar maroon mini-van with a weathered-face driver that's got a "Got Milk?" white mustache. He is known to hisfriends as Glen or Klip. We are on our way. The usual salutary exchanges will have to wait. We've got to go.
