It is with extreme honour that I write to you for the first time in my role as President. My message to you is inspired by the many positive changes that I have witnessed over the past few years and more importantly by the many individuals who found time above and beyond their primary and/or changing jobs and lives to make this Society what it is today. I would like to first acknowledge and thank Chris McGuigan, our outgoing President, for his inspirational and dynamic leadership of the Society for the past 2 years. Under his guidance, the Society has welcomed in many new positive changes. Shortly after coming into office, Chris enlisted the help of Andrea Brancale to redesign the ISAR website, which included the creation of a member-only sub-domain. Although it was challenging at times, Chris also helped transition the Society into the 'eAge' with a web-based membership directory and a web-based election process. In addition, our newsletter now not only appears on our website, but is published biannu-ally by International Medical Press in the journal Antiviral Chemistry and Chemotherapy. As an incoming President, I must say the bar for success remains high and daunting but attainable.
