The price for Indonesia palm kernel shells(PKS)dropped further on the week to Wednesday,as Japanese demand weakened.The spot price for fob east coast Sumatra Indonesian PKS declined by 38￠/t on the week to $108.06/t.Biomass power plants in Japan which have the flexibility to switch to other fuel sources such as wood pellets and wood chips are cutting back their PKS consumption amid uncertainty over Indonesia's PKS export levy policy and competitively priced alternative biomass fuels,many PKS suppliers told Argus this week.
