The impact of the catastrophic bushfires across the country continues to be felt by many Australians. For those in fire-affected areas, there have been many challenges to contend with including frequent power outages as the transmission and distribution infrastructure comes under pressure either from the fires themselves, or from planned outages to restore fire-affected assets. The same can be said of recent storms that impacted New South Wales and damaged sub-transmission and distribution lines and left thousands of people without power - in some cases affecting customers for over a week.
