The aim of the study was to estimate the possible relationship between CATHL2 G807A genotypes and some milk performance traits (milk yield, protein, fat and lactose content) and the number of somatic cells. The research covered the Polish Holstein-Friesian cows of the black-and-white variety (phf). The ACRS and PCR-RFLP methods were used to identify genotypes. Frequencies of CATHL2 807G>A were: GG-0.636, GA-0.323 and AA-0.041, while allele frequencies were: G-0.797 and A-0.203. Statistically significant correlation between CATHL2 genotypes and selected analyzed traits was found in the study.
