摘要

The time has come for health professionals to act to protect the health of our children in new ways. Last year I authored an article (Altern Med Rev 2009; 14.4) on the wide range of impacts environmental chemicals impose on children in utero.' This article reviewed the literature showing that in utero exposure to heavy metals, chlorinated persistent pollutants, organophosphate pesticides, and air pollutants cause long-term immune, neurological, and hormonal problems in children. The number of published articles on this topic has continued to grow since this brief review article was published.
