"Rather than decreasing the size of government as Republican administrations frequently claim they will do," the Trump administration is merely outsourcing government work to temporary staffing agencies, according to a recent policy brief issued by the National Employment Law Project (NELP). Temping Out the Federal Government, a report issued June 19, contends that the outsourcing of work to temporary agencies degrades both the quality of those jobs and the quality of government services—with no corresponding cost reduction to the federal government.
