摘要

This paper deals with the study of structural hybrid joints. The hybrid term is due to the combination of a conventional mechanical joint (screwed or riveted) and a cyanoacrylate adhesive. The main task of the elements of the joints is to transmit the loads from one to another adherent. We have approached the problem of tensil static loads. The objective of the present work is to know the performance of these joints by observing how the elements of the joints operate together and, specially, what is the effect of the adhesive when is incorporated to a conventional mechanical joint. The following joints have been tested: mechanical joints with rivets, mechanical joints with screws, adhesive joints and hybrid joints (mechanical element and adhesive). A wide variety of factors have been considered in the specimens design and, specially, in the joints. Conclusions are obtained from the comparison of the performance of all described type of joints. The most significant conclusion is that if a cyanoacrylate adhesive is used with a mechanical element in a joint, the resistant performance of the joint is rather greater.
