摘要

About 1400 health workers have undergone life support trainings under the program of Essential Surgical Skills with Emphasis on Maternal Child Health (ESS-EMCH)", in last 2 years from all parts of Pakistan. ESSEMCH has been developed in collaboration with WHO, Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG-UK) and Child Advocacy International, as the first structured life support course targeted for developing countries like Pakistan. A faculty of internationally certified medical doctors and health professionals, from various teaching institutions, hospitals and health facilities of Pakistan, are donating their time to carry out these internationally accredited courses. ESS-EMCH Programme has three levels of implementation starting from the tertiary care (APLS & MOET), to district hospital (EMCH) and to first level re-sponders working in the community (ambulance personnel, skilled birth attendants and paramedics). This programme is designed to strengthen the emergency care for women and children, by improving "Golden hour management", in the existing health care delivery system in Pakistan.
