Despite geopolitical uncertainties in 2003,which reduced investment opportunities and depressed the financial markets,the net earnings of Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (Apicorp) increased by 17.5% to US33.5 million last year from US28.5 million in 2002.The assets of the pan-Arab company,which is attached to the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC),increased by 12% to US2,088 million as at 31 December 2003 from US1,864 million a year earlier,while its shareholders' funds rose from US680 million to US707 million from one year to the next (AOG,1 May,2004).AOG summarizes below the main points of Apicorp's 2003 annual report,which has just been published.
