Papers are invited for the Seventh International ASTM/ESIS Symposium on Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics (36th ASTM National Symposium on Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics) sponsored by ASTM Committee E08 on Fatigue and Fracture. The symposium will be held Nov. 14-16, 2007, in conjunction with the Nov. 12-15, 2007, standards development meetings of Committee E08. Papers are invited on the following topics: Influence of inhomogeneous microstructures on fatigue and fracture behavior, Coupled surface effects (including corrosion-fatigue, fretting-fatigue, contact fatigue), Coupled microstructure effects (e.g., phase transformations, textures, inclusions), Computational materials design for improved fatigue and fracture performance, Effects of environment on material degradation and structural integrity, Prediction of ageing and embrittlement, Numerical and analytical modeling of fatigue and fracture processes, Structural integrity of thin films, coatings and MEMS devices, Novel techniques for experimental validation of multi-scale and multi-physics approaches, Life assessment and structural integrity approaches and codes; and Physically based damage prognosis systems.
