摘要

Everyone involved in bonsai dreams of travelling to Japan. Ever since I was twelve years of age when I started growing bonsai I had such a dream. But life and commitments prohibited this dream from becoming reality. Bonsai in the UK is generally self-taught. We did not have many Japanese immigrants, and no one like those in US communities who taught bonsai and held exhibits. UK bonsai growers therefore had a certain freedom but sometimes at the expense of good basic technique.
