A GROUP of South Australian woolgrowers are now recognising the commercial potential of a home-grown product that has been under their noses for years -saltbush mutton and hogget. Once a tasty meat for station barbecues in the pastoral areas of SA and a well-kept secret among pastoralists, humble salt-bush mutton and hogget has been renamed Salt Bush Dija by a far-sighted district businessman and is now being sold as a gourmet product with a distinctive flavour.
