摘要

Nada has spent thirty years in North Queensland studying and growing the native ferns of the area. This has involved many trips to fern areas from central Queensland to the top of Cape York Peninsula to observe and identify the ferns and recognise their growing requirements.Of the eighteen species of this genus in Australia, eight are found in North Queensland with three of these endemic to the region. The three endemic species are Blechnum articulatum, B. whelanii, and B. wurunuran.Blechnum articulatum is a beautiful fern of the high mountain areas from the Annan River to the Kirrima Range. It grows in rainforest along the banks of creeks or on the rocks in the water courses.
