North Queensland is home to a number of ferns which, although not all are endemic, are rare and unusual. Most of them occur in limited locations in the tropical rainforest of north east Queensland.Plesioneuron tuberculatum is confined to north eastern Queensland although it also occurs in the Moluccas and New Guinea. In Australia it is a lowland species where it occurs as a terrestrial along creek banks in the rainforest between Babinda Creek andthe North Johnstone River. It is extremely rare in Australia.
