The Drug Discovery Technology (DDT) Europe meeting exists to provide a venue for an update on the status of drug discovery. In particular, the event focuses on the development and application of new technologies that aid, streamline or accelerate drug discovery, and also provides a snapshot estimation of the key issues facing the pharma and biotech industries currently, as well as an appraisal of recent trends and likely future prospects. Because of the wide remit of this meeting, much of the conference was presented in concurrent streams, and even within specific sessions, the presentations covered a considerable range of topics, from high-level strategic overviews to more detailed reviews of specific technologies and drug-discovery stories. This report covers both the plenary sessions, and all of the presentations in the stream entitled 'Lead generation and lead optimization'.
