Last year the European beef sector was faced with a serious crisis. BSE has done nothing to help the image of beef among consumers. Consumers are demanding the firmest possible guarantees about the origin and safety of beef. With ICM Beef the Dutch beef sector is able to provide those guarantees. To the consumer, buying beef is increasingly more a question of trust. Consumers demand a guarantee that the beef contains no forbidden growth hormones or medical residues. BSE has reinforced the demand of the consumer that the beef must be of known origin. The consumer wants absolutely safe beef.
