Canada's associations and dealers turn to different cultures to recruit service technicians. John Schmeiser will try just about anything to recruit service technicians to dealerships in western Canada. As executive vice president of the Canada West Equipment Dealers Association (CWEDA), Schmeiser's efforts have ranged from handing out free coloring books to attending career fairs in Germany. He admits that his methods are "all over the map," but collectively he hopes they will make a difference.
