摘要

Monokaryons established from single basidiospores of Pleurotus sajor-caju on yeastal potato dextrose agar showed wide variation for several colony characters and growth. Out of 19 monokaryons, four were very slow growing as compared to the parent culture. All monokaryons except two (No.7 and No.16) differed from the parent culture as well as among themselves in several colony character. The nineteen monokaryons were grouped into four incompatibility classes based on their mating reactions, indicatingtetra polar mating system and heterothallic nature of the fungus.
