Mustard is an important crop of semi-arid region (Zone-II b) of south-west Rajasthan. In the light soils of this region, broomrape (Orobanche aegyptiaca Pers.), a holo-parasitic weed has been causing heavy losses to the mustard crop. Selective control of broomrape on mustard crop is not reported yet. Therefore, an attempt was made to screen out a suitable herbicide in one experiment and oil in another experiment for controlling the broomrape in mustard crop.
