Coenurosis (stagger or gid) 5s an important disease of CNS caused by metacestode or larval stage (Coenurus cerebralis) of adult tape worm, Taeniamulticeps found in small intestine of dogs, fox, coyote and jackal etc. (Soulsby, 1986). There had been extensive reports on this disease (Asiani, 1999, Magroub, 1972, Remolar et al; 1995) mostly occurring sporadically. But reports on outbreak form of coenurosis is meager and it seems to be nil in India. Hence the present context elucidates an outbreak formof coenurosis in local goats, which appears to be unreported till date in India.
