State-run Saudi Aramco made only minor adjustments to its differentials for August, much to the chagrin of customers in Asia. Asian buyers were not too happy with the price cut for Arab Heavy, as it was much smaller than what they have seen in the market recently. The largest moves occurred for European buyers who saw a price hike. For Asian customers, Aramco increased differentials on Arab Heavy by 5￠ to minus $3/bbl versus the Oman-Dubai average, while keeping differentials on Arab Medium unchanged at minus $1.75/bbl. Buyers had expected 20￠ cuts on the two heavier grades amid continued weakness in the fuel oil market.
