Total is poised to drill up to three exploration wells in the Bonaparte Basin off Australia's northern coast later this year as part of a program targeting large-scale gas and condensate discoveries. The French oil giant has invited bids for a farm-in partner to take up to 40% of the WA-402-P and WA-403-P permits, which lie in a proven hydrocarbon province south of ConocoPhillips' producing Bayu-Undan field.
