摘要

Bhima (Ujjani) Project is a major Irrigation Project in Maharashtra. Bhima (Ujjani) Dam is located at Village Bhimanagar Taluka Madha in Solapur District. It is a 56.4 m. high Masonry Dam across river Bhima which is a tributary of Krishna River with agross and free catchment areas of 14,856 sq.km, and 9766 sq.km. It is a multipurpose project i.e., Irrigation and Hydro Project. Annual Irrigation (cropped area) is 2,78,995 ha. in District Solapur, through the Left & Right Bank Canal system. The Dam iscompleted in all respects in the year 1980. The work of Left Bank- Canal and its branches is more or less in completion stage and the work of Right Bank Canal offtaking from km. 20 of Ujjani Left Bank Canal is in progress. Part Irrigation on completed portions of canal system has commenced since 1980.
