Before-The existing computer-based training program was more than 400 screens of material, delivered in a "brain dump" to trainees. More than 200 screens were devoted to the pre-use inspection and machine controls, leaving just 200 screens to teach the tasks of haul-truck operation. There was no sense of what the foundational building blocks of knowledge were; nor was there a step-by-step process to build trainees' skills and knowledge incrementally.
