摘要

High maize yields must be subsidized by culture management especially during the early growth period. Starting with seed dressing against emergence diseases and pest attack, as well as treatments against the European corn borer [Ostrinia nubilalis],the control of weeds mainly contributes to stable yields. Typical local conditions such as soil texture, organic matter content, precipitation, and weed population have to be considered to avoid expensive problems with weed control strategies. Typical control strategies are presented. We distinguish between soil and leaf active substances and combined products in which the advantages of both soil and leaf activity are combined. As soon as more grasses or problematic weeds appear in cultivations, the base herbicides will not give a good level of control and must be replaced by additional partner herbicides.
