摘要

Mitchell King is a high school sophomore, but he has already set "smart goals" to graduate with a 3.9 grade point average (GPA), attend California Polytechnic State University and to become a large-animal veterinarian. As a participant in an initiative by The National FFA Organization, the Hanford, Calif, student was encouraged to set goals that are "specific, measurable and time-bound," he says. "I have to put exactly how I'm going to do it. It gives you a self-esteem boost." With a current 3.7 GPA, he adds, "I've got to work at it."
